Ninja Mom Sews- Glove and Hat Storage Tutorial

Every year, the battle of the gloves and hats comes around. It adds a solid 15- 20 minutes to our getting out of the door routine. It is exhausting.

Until now, we had to storage baskets… similar to the ones in the picture holding the shoes. One was supposedly mom and dad’s winter gear. The other was kid gear. You would think that pulling out a hat and a pair of gloves would be an easy task… apparently not.

Does adult coloring make you happy??? Or does it stress you out?

If it stresses you out… you should probably just move along. This post is for those of us who appreciate the art 🙂

I’ve been doodling A LOT this summer. I’ve had lots and lots of time on my hands as we’ve been spending most of our days at doctor appointments.

Be sure to check out the Printable Coloring Books on Ninja Mom Designs Etsy.

Several friends have commented that they couldn’t do what I do. But I beg to differ… you totally can do it!

Wait What?!? I Bought Clip Art?!?- A Tutorial

clip art tutorial

Are you a teacher, a scrapbooker, a planner, a crafter???

I remember back in the day… like way back… thumbing through books of clip art. That’s right- paper books filled with cute images, words, and more. We would xerox copy the page with an image, then cut (with scissors mind you) the image out and stick it with transparent tape to the place on the page we wanted it to be. We would do this until the project was complete and then proudly make copies of the final mashed together project. Usually, it was the youth group newsletter that I was working on.

{DIY} Planner Cover for the Happy Planner- A Tutorial

diy coverI was playing around with my planner the other day. I don’t have the arc punch that would make creating and adding pages to my planner super easy… but then I realized… I don’t NEED the punch!

Here are easy steps to making your OWN planner cover at HOME!

What you need:

  • Your cover (whether you print it from home, use a folder, etc.)
  • scissors
  • laminator (or contact paper)
  • hole punch

diy cover 1

Print your cover (I have a couple of already designed sets in the Etsy Shop). You might want to print on cardstock for thickness. The dimensions for the Happy Planner Cover are 7.75 inches by 9.75 inches

Laminate your cover. I use the Purple Cows Hot and Cold Laminator, and LOVE IT!

Cut out your cover. I rounded the edges on mine when I cut:

Take the cover or page off your Happy Planner and line it up with the edge of your new cover. Using a Sharpie or other pen, make marks on the BACK of your new cover for the punches.

Using your scissors, cut slits from the edge to the holes you just punched. You might need to make the slits a tiny bit wider than just one cut.

Click your cover into place and you are ready to go!!!
